For the night’s feature, Mr. Cannibal has hand-picked one the zombie film that gave raise to the classic notion of brain-eating ghouls: RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD. Part social commentary, part non-stop action-packed gore fest—this movie has a little something for everyone from the seasoned zombie fanatic to the undead novice. Come prepared to laugh and scream!

Free gory goodie bags will be handed out to all, and J. Cannibal will award a number of prizes for the best zombie costumes from New England Comics, Regeneration Tattoo and Horror Business. If all this ghoulish glory has whet your appetite for freaky films, Boston-area residents can also trek down to their local branch of Hollywood Express and browse J. Cannibal’s very own “picks” section, where they can check out some of his favorite horror movies of all time.

Thanks and Feast makes the news again!

Thanks to the 300+ ghouls who came out last weekend to make FOF8 one of the best nights of the year. I’ll be posting pictures soon in the gallery; we had tons of talented photographers there. Some video will be up and available soon too!

In other news, H. Cannibal’s Feast of Flesh just got a nod from the editor’s at the Boston Phoenix for their “Best of Boston” issue. The category? Best Naked Zombies. Check it out:

Feast of Flesh

Twice a year at the Coolidge Corner Theatre, skull-faced gentle giant J. Cannibal presents FEAST OF FLESH, an undead extravaganza featuring live music, a zombie contest, and zombie-themed "grotesque burlesque" (where else can you see green, rotting tits?), all culminating in a cult-classic zombie B-flick, handpicked by the Cannibal himself. He used to be an undertaker, so the man knows his corpses. Feast of Flesh is generally packed to the decaying gills with the freaks and geeks of the local underworld (i.e., Hot Topic enthusiasts) and die-hard fans of horror kitsch, so plan your visit to the Feast early.

April 11th: J. Cannibal's Feast of Flesh VIII

Black Ocean Presents

J. CANNIBAL’S FEAST OF FLESH VIII

featuring the Italian cult classic CEMETERY MAN

plus special guests BLACK CAT BURLESQUE

with live music by VAGIANT

Saturday, April 11th / Midnight / $10

Real-life undertaker and long time zombie fanatic J. Cannibal—dubbed the King of Horror Burlesque—presents a gruesome banquet of midnight mayhem!

This frightful night of fun kicks off with Vagiant: the all-girl, all-punk outfit from Allston rock city. Even if you don’t recognize their songs form the smash-hit videogame Rock Band, their no-holds-barred songs about drinking, fucking and fighting are sure to pump you up for a zombie-ass-kicking good time! Following their set will be a bevy of grotesque burlesque courtesy of the infamous horror troupe, Black Cat Burlesque. Dedicated to putting the BUMP back into the night, Black Cat Burlesque has been raising pulses, the dead and a whole lot of hell since 2003. As the bad seeds of Boston Burlesque, this scream team mines the depths of their twisted psyches—blending striptease thrills and spookshow chills to push the boundaries of the art form and explore the dark, cobwebbed corners of neo-cabaret.

For the night’s feature, Mr. Cannibal has hand-picked one of his all-time favorite zombie films: CEMETERY MAN. Not only is this an oustanding zombie film, but Martin Scorsese himself has called it one of the best Italian fims of the 1990s, period. Featuring flying heads, hot zombie sex, undead motorbike brats and the coolest gravedigger to ever swagger across the silver screen, this film actually inspired Mr. Cannibal to get into the undertaking business himself. You definitely want to catch this one on the big screen!

March 20th: Tapas of Terror at BUFF 2009!

J. Cannibal's Tapas of Terror

J. Cannibal, producer and MC of the bi-annual "J. Cannibal's Feast of Flesh" zombie fest, brings you a program of horror shorts hand-picked from the BUFF meat locker. The real-life undertaker—crowned Boston's king of horror and oddities by local media—has put together an evening of cannibalistic cowboys, gun-totin' grannies, homicidal Christmas trees and nightmarish animations. With more than enough blood to wash it all down, there's something for every freak in attendance! Of the selections, J. Cannibal writes: "There are films here that made me laugh and clap, and a few that genuinely creeped me out. When you cut people open for a living it takes a lot to scare you, or make you laugh. Some of these images have stayed with me for weeks; I think horror fans will be very pleased." Admission to all Boston Underground Film Festival events is only $8.

The night's line-up is set to include:

Dead Bones / Olivier Beguin 2008
I, Zombie / Danny Curtin 2008
Guns and Butter / Nate Chapman 2008
Popsicle / Lucas Amann 2008
